Course Overview

This 4 week program has been designed to improve students’ French language skills while enriching their knowledge of French and European Cultures. The program offers French and Global Studies courses combined with cultural activities, including a 2 day visit to Paris.

Global Studies
With its cultural, historical, and political background, France is the perfect place to take a Global Studies course. Students will attend seminars on several aspects of France’s, also Europe’s, role in the world. Outside the classroom, a comprehensive series is organized to artistic and historical destinations, from museums and art galleries to centers portraying vital social and political events.
French (Pre-intermediate level required)
There is no better place to study a language than in the country where that language is spoken. This course develops a very pratical approach to learning French. Students will also have guided opportunities outside of the classrooms to experience France first-hand in a practical manner.

The French and Global Studies courses include activities and visits outside of the classroom:
• 2 day visit to Paris (all inclusive)
• Discovering Lyon:
The old city and its hidden passageways
The city’s most popular museums
Les Halles Paul Boscuse, a world-famous gourmet market
The birth place of cinema (Institut Lumière)
Lyon’s famous painted walls
• Cheese tasting
• Wine tasting in the Beaujolais, a renowned wine-making region just outside of Lyon
• Visit in the French Alps
• Principles of microeconomics
• English composition 1
• Communication & academic methodology
• French language
